
Bachelor’s degree in Geography from the University of São Paulo (1977), Master’s degree in Geography (Human Geography) from the University of São Paulo (1984) and PhD in Geography (Human Geography) from the University of São Paulo (1993). He has been a lecturer in Political Geography (associate professor) at the University of São Paulo since 2007. Full Professor of Geography in the same Department since 2017. He has experience in Urban, Regional and Political Geography, with an emphasis on Geopolitics. Coordinator of the Postgraduate Program in Human Geography at FFLCH-USP (2007 to 2009) and Head of the Geography Department (2010 to 2014). Director of the Geography Laboratory-GEOPO since 2016, with a mandate until 2019. Coordinator of the Geography bookshelf at Editora HUCITEC, as of the second half of 2016. He has published books and texts on political geography, geopolitics and regional geography, focusing on regionalism, federalism, borders and global geopolitics.
